Chris Noth returns to the state in political drama...Collapse )
01 November 2008 @ 10:08 pm
In today's Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Sunday TVWeek, in anticipation of the now-pushed back CI premiere, there is an front-page article on P-burgh native Jeff Goldblum and his new character, Detective Zach Nichols.

There is also some insight into what happened to Mike Logan, post-season seven.

Nichols arrives following the departure of Det. Mike Logan (Chris Noth), whose absence will be addressed.

"Wheeler mentions something about Logan casually, the level at which he was burnt out," said Robert Nathan, a Johnstown native and the new executive producer for the series' Nichols-Wheeler episodes. "But we'll bring it back in a bigger way later in the season. We'll talk more about where Logan is and why he left and she will begin to reveal some of what she believes is going to happen with Logan."

Nathan said it's too soon to say if viewers will see Logan again on "Criminal Intent" (9 p.m. Friday), but he hopes Noth will come back as a guest star.

Just to let you all know - this community is STILL up and running! Apologies that I have not posted a lot lately. I'm in the process of re-vamping this page! New layout/profile page on the way. I'll also be re-doing the community tags, so bear with me while I slog through that!

If you have any ideas or suggestions as to what you would like to see in this community, please leave a comment here, or PM me [polkadotsnplaid]. Since Logan is not returning for the eighth season of Criminal Intent, I'm thinking of doing something like a weekly old-school TOS episode watching-and-discussion - possibly starting from the beginning - if there is interest. Again, please comment here! Ideas and suggestions welcome!
From Playbill:

Chris Noth, of Broadway's The Best Man, and TV's "Law & Order" and "Sex and the City," will star in the Atlantic Theater Company's world premiere political drama Farragut North. Complete casting for the Oct. 22-Nov. 29 run was announced Sept. 15.

Playbill News...Collapse )

It sounds pretty interesting and from what I've watched on TV/in film and have had the fortune to see live, Noth always puts on a good show...In fact, myself and my mike_logan_3728 co-mod, neojess, have already gotten ourselves tickets for one of the November performances! Should be exciting!
...I'm kind of going nuts over this. Without giving too much away for those who truly do not want to be spoiled for Logan's last episode, "Last Rites" (airing this Sunday at 9pm on USA), I will say that there is a GREAT article in Friday's USA Today about his departure and the episode.

You can read it HERE, or under the cut for the linkophobes.

No other outlet but "Playbill" has reported this yet (I don't think, anyway). But apparently Chris Noth is going to appear in two Season 8 episodes of Criminal Intent. Full text of the article can be found HERE.

...which means that it's even more unclear how Logan will exit the show.

I shared my thoughts with neojess earlier and I thought I'd put them here as well. Maybe if we get enough talk out there on the Internet that killing Logan would be A BAD, TERRIBLE IDEA that would make me cry and probably never watch CI again, they won't go that route, if they were indeed thinking of doing so.

My Thoughts...Or, Please, Mr. Wolf, Don't Kill Off one of the, in your own words, 'Most Popular Detectives in TV History'...Collapse )

...yeah, I kind of want to cry. I'm sort of mad because I totally wasn't expecting this, but if you've been keeping up with what he's been saying to the press, it's really not surprising. I hope they don't send Logan off in disgrace or kill him -- perhaps a quiet exit like they gave Curtis or Briscoe, considering all that the character of Logan has done for the franchise over the years.

It's been all over the news, but the article I found most informative was the one from the NY Post, so I'm linking it HERE and also including the text under the cut.

I'd like to try to revive episode discussions once again! My thoughts, random commentary, quotes, spoilers, etc. will be under the cut. Please feel free to chime in with discussion or your own commentary or quotes that you liked or thoughts you had or what-have-you.

Just a reminder:

New Criminal Intent tonight - the first new Logan episode of the second half of Season 7, and (whee, I am so excited) THE RETURN OF WHEELER.

It'll be airing at 9PM EST and reairing at 12AM EST on USA.
...and I couldn't agree more.
